Arrival
- Winter equipment such as winter tyres and snow chains should be considered "standard". Four-wheel drive vehicles should not normally have any problems. The road is gritted with grit and salt, but weather changes must always be expected.
- During the winter months, the road to Hochfügen may have to be closed at short notice due to the risk of avalanches. Please enquire before your arrival in particularly snowy winters.
- There is no petrol station in Hochfügen. You should therefore consider the outward and return journey (26 km) to avoid getting stranded. However, we can of course also help out here in an emergency.
- We try to counteract the heavy traffic on Saturdays by keeping the arrival and departure days as flexible as possible for our guests and by choosing a day other than Saturday in the busiest weeks.
Travelling by car
From Germany
via Munich/Rosenheim - Kufstein (A12 - Inntal motorway) - motorway exit Wiesing/Zillertal - onto the Zillertal Bundesstraße (B169) to Fügen - Süd, roundabout 1st exit - at the 2nd roundabout straight on towards Spieljochbahn.From Switzerland
Direction Innsbruck (A8) - then onto the A12 Inntal - motorway - Jenbach - motorway exit Wiesing/Zillertal - onto the Zillertal Bundesstraße (B169) to Fügen - Süd, roundabout 1st exit - at the 2nd roundabout straight ahead towards Spieljochbahn.From the Spieljochbahn:
Continue on the uphill road for 12km to Hochfügen. Don't be put off, you might think "there's nothing more to come" - here are a few more pointers: past the "Schiestl" hotel, past the "Hubertus" hotel, past the "Pankrazberg primary school". Always stay on this road, the population is getting thinner and thinner. Hochfügen only comes into view at the end. Enter Hochfügen (archway), then immediately turn left over the bridge. The hotel on your right is the Berghotel Hochfügen.Travelling by train
From Germany
Munich - Rosenheim - Kufstein - Wörgl - Jenbach. Change there to the Zillertalbahn (train or bus) and continue to the railway station in Fügen. Public bus or taxi to Hochfügen.From Switzerland
Zurich - Feldkirch - Innsbruck - Jenbach. There please change to the Zillertalbahn (train or bus) and continue to the railway station in Fügen. Public bus or taxi to Hochfügen. We are also happy to organise - by prior arrangement - a pick-up service (for a fee!) from Fügen or Jenbach railway station.
