Our mission statement
As the first hotel in Hochfügen, built in 1962, the walls of our hotel have already experienced legendary things.
Back then, when Hochfügen was still considered almost uninhabitable and difficult to access, avalanches rushed through the guest rooms and, miraculously, no one was ever injured. To some, the people who voluntarily lived "in there" seemed downright tired of life. After all, even the infamous Pfundsgeist is said to have wreaked havoc here.
But it was precisely during this time that the soul of our house developed. It became a place where a wide variety of people came together. The lonely mountain shepherd, the daring mountaineer or ski tourer, the holiday guest, the hard-working lift employee, the dashing waitress from Styria, the houseboy from Bavaria, the artist from the city looking for inspiration and the host family. A place where everyone is equal. Because everyone wants to warm up a little here, get closer and move closer together. On a freezing cold winter's night at 1,500 metres above sea level, cosily gathered around the stove, it no longer matters where someone comes from or what they are doing. What counts is the moment.
Family-run hotel
But the Berghotel has retained a little of its somewhat defiant nature. It is not so easily bent, does not want to copy, but to act. Remaining individual, quality instead of quantity, cheerful instead of customised.
We are a real family business and that's why we should talk about family. Family means partnership, has to do with love, with joy in children and a good relationship between the generations. Family is vital to us and that is why we have consciously decided that our children should grow up in the company. This makes our lives more manageable and perhaps a little turbulent at times. However, we hope to convey this "we-feeling" to our guests and employees and to be able to live as one big Berghotel family in this exceptionally beautiful place.
Being a guest at the Berghotel means feeling at home, being able to let yourself drift. Doing whatever you feel like - without constraints, as uncomplicated as possible. We personally endeavour to ensure your well-being with the greatest possible commitment.
